What kind of shampoo do I use for thick thick hair to make it soft and smooth?

I have thick hair, a little oily, and blonde hairWhat kind of shampoo do I use for thick thick hair to make it soft and smooth?
The absolute best is the new brand called Organix. It has organic active ingredients and is sulfate free so it wont dry out your hair, plus...it smells awesome! They have different collections for different hair types which are all amazing! You can get Organix at Target, Kroger, Albertsons, Duane Reade, Safeway, etc. You'll love it!!!

I love Frederic Fekkai. Use the Apple Cider Clarifying Shampoo to combat the oiliness, and the Shea Butter Conditioner for softness.
Garnier Fructisse does amazing things with thick, thick hair (and it's kind of cheap--bonus!)
I agree with the first answer, baby shampoo is the best way to soften hair.
Garnier Fructisse or Pantene Pro V I recommend both and they are good...especially affordable!!
You should try Dove shampoo and conditioner....its amazing it did wonders for my hair.
There's thick hair (many, many strands) and there's coarse hair (individual strands are thicker).

Coarse hair gets stiffer if it's overly dry. Properly conditioned, it may be smooth rather than rough, but it's not going to become softer than it is/was when newly-grown. Imagine oiling a cat's whiskers ... shiny, but they're not going to droop after cleaning out the tuna fish can.

If you have a thick mane of medium-to-fine hair, shampoo when it's actually dirty and then condition with a non-silicone conditioner or with oil. You want the hair to neither dry out nor get stiff from a build-up of unrinsed shampoo, layers of conditioner or even layers of hard-water build-up.

If you have hard-water (high mineral content) you may need to do a final rinse with distilled water (not fancy designer water, plain distilled water).
